…tions Added `@functools.lru_cache` to `_compiled_context_lexicon` in `openmed/openmed/clinical/context.py` and section aliases in `openmed/openmed/clinical/lexicons/section_headers.py`. Modified dictionary return types to `types.MappingProxyType` to prevent downstream mutation of cached instances. Recorded performance learning in `.jules/bolt.md`. 👋 Jules, reporting for duty! I'm here to lend a hand with this pull request. When you start a review, I'll add a 👀 emoji to each comment to let you know I've read it. I'll focus on feedback directed at me and will do my best to stay out of conversations between you and other bots or reviewers to keep the noise down. I'll push a commit with your requested changes shortly after. Please note there might be a delay between these steps, but rest assured I'm on the job! 💡 What: Added
@functools.lru_cacheto_compiled_context_lexiconandsection_header_aliasesfunctions. Modified return types of cached mappings totypes.MappingProxyTypeto guarantee immutability.🎯 Why: In openmed text processing pipelines, compiling deterministic regex patterns or assembling lexicons dynamically inside functions called during string/span evaluations created a severe performance bottleneck.
📊 Impact: Eliminates redundant regex compilation during clinical text pipeline execution, reducing CPU overhead during span classifications (e.g. temporality, negation). Memory footprint is extremely minimal (maxsize=16 per cache).
🔬 Measurement: Verify by monitoring NLP extraction pipeline throughput. Test passes locally (
uv run pytest tests/unit/clinical).PR created automatically by Jules for task 8075981499430453367 started by @zrt219
