Summary

  • remove the unused Chrome/Firefox scripting permission
  • expand the public privacy page with extension-specific data handling disclosures
  • preserve the existing declarative content-script and browser SDK behavior

Verification

  • extension unit tests: 43 passed
  • extension E2E: 4 passed
  • extension TypeScript check: passed
  • Chrome + Firefox store ZIPs regenerated
  • web backend build: passed
  • web backend typecheck: passed
  • web backend unit tests: 126 passed

Scope

No changes to the macOS app, Rust core, web SDK runtime, Worker routes, or banking/billing logic.

Remove an unused privileged permission and publish extension-specific privacy disclosures before the first Chrome and Firefox reviews.

Constraint: Store reviewers require permission minimization and accurate data-use disclosure.

Rejected: Submit the existing bundles unchanged | unused scripting permission and Studio-only privacy copy create avoidable review risk

Confidence: high

Scope-risk: narrow

Directive: Keep page digest injection declarative unless runtime scripting becomes a real product requirement.

Tested: Extension unit 43/43; extension E2E 4/4; extension typecheck and Chrome/Firefox packaging; web backend build, typecheck, and unit 126/126

Not-tested: Marketplace reviewer decisions and live store upload forms
