Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (PC, EA, 2005) - a measurement of the retail DVD: 1,659 files, UDF File Entries hiding in 126 gaps, SafeDisc 4.50.000, GEAR mastering
A CD-ROM measured from its raw sectors: the 1997 European PC port of Resident Evil. 312,982 Mode 1 sectors all verified; the first object in this collection whose filesystem dates the work rather than the copy, in Japanese wall-clock under a European timezone byte; 2,601 PlayStation textures inside a Win32 game.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (PC, Electronic Arts, 2001) measured from the retail disc: ISO 9660 layout, a table hidden in the volume descriptor, the read window that hides the border of a 9,280-sector unreadable region, 249 Unreal Engine 1 packages, and 31 levels in one line.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (PC, EA, 2007) - a measurement of the retail DVD: a pressed disc whose image was built with UltraISO, an ISO 9660 that is not ISO 9660, SecuROM with no version string, and the eight-disc streak of zero shared files ending on five DirectX cabinets
Age of Wonders II: The Wizard's Throne (PC, 2002) measured from the retail CD: a closed form for 143,595,520 bytes of padding, a volume descriptor that names the disc's first and last unreadable sector, and the first two files shared between two different publishers in this collection.
Alfred Chicken (Twilight / Mindscape, Amiga CD32, 1993): structural documentation read from an original pressed disc, the first physical one in this set. Settles that the thirteen-zero CATALOG is the mastering not the dumper, that the overrun past the declared volume is cut into the glass master, and verifies MODE1/2048 by descrambling.
The CD-ROM bound into Il Mio Computer no. 129, February 2006, mastered with Nero on 4 January 2006. The first object in this collection with raw 2352-byte sectors: a full census of sync, MSF, subheader, EDC and ECC. Two namespaces that agree on nothing, three declarations that disagree, and 0.81 percent the magazine made.
