SkapaCraft isn't a company. It's a standard, applied to every tool, every plugin, every line of code that carries the name.
Most software today is built to impress on a feature list, not to respect the person running it. Plugins that bundle a full UI framework for a button. Apps that phone home before you've even opened the settings screen. Dashboards you need a manual to understand.
SkapaCraft started as a reaction to that: what if the default was the opposite?
- Zero bloat instead of maximum features
- Privacy by default, not "we value your privacy" fine print
- Code you can actually read instead of a black box you're told to trust
Every tool that carries the SkapaCraft name follows the same four rules, regardless of platform:
- Performance first, not last. Speed isn't an optimisation pass at the end; it's a constraint from the first line of code.
- No bloat. Every feature needs a reason. If it doesn't pull its weight, it doesn't ship.
- Transparent by design. You know what the code does because you can read it. Privacy defaults aren't negotiable.
- Native, not wrapped. Built for the platform, not ported from the web or buried inside a framework.

Bug reports and feature requests belong in the issue tracker of the repository
they concern. Security problems do not: each repository has a Security tab
with private reporting, and a SECURITY.md saying what counts as one.
