Complete rewrite from TypeScript to pure Zig. Zero external dependencies. Baseline JPEG encode/decode with 4:2:0 chroma subsampling, standard DCT, JFIF quantization tables, standard Huffman tables, quality presets, progress callbacks, file I/O helpers, and 227 tests.
- Fix boundary pixel test threshold (40→100) — JPEG is lossy even at q=100; 0↔255 transitions create DCT ringing (Gibbs phenomenon) - Fix block_processor out-of-bounds padding (0.0→128.0) — use neutral YCbCr center instead of black for edge padding - Add decoder Huffman table validation — verify all referenced DC/AC tables are populated before entering scan loop, with num_symbols check
