Backend Software Engineer based in João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brazil.

For the past several years, I've been building software for SaaS products, working primarily on backend systems, APIs, distributed applications, and the infrastructure that supports them. My work has ranged from developing new features to modernizing legacy systems, improving automated testing, and helping teams deliver software more reliably.

Most of my professional experience has been with Ruby, but I don't see myself as a Ruby engineer. I enjoy backend engineering as a whole and appreciate learning the technologies that best fit the problem. Throughout my career I've also worked with Java, JavaScript, Crystal, and a variety of databases, messaging systems, and cloud technologies.

What keeps me interested in software engineering is understanding how systems work. Whether I'm investigating a production issue, reading through an unfamiliar codebase, or designing a new feature, I like taking the time to understand the problem before deciding on a solution.

One of the things I appreciate most about software engineering is that there is rarely a single correct solution. I enjoy understanding the trade-offs behind different approaches and working with a team to find solutions that balance simplicity, maintainability, and long-term value.
