Fix security vulnerabilities in fast-xml-parser, fast-uri, aws-cdk-lib, brace-expansion, yaml, minimatch, @smithy/config-resolver, and ajv

Short summary

This PR remediates security vulnerabilities in eight npm packages: fast-xml-parser, fast-uri, aws-cdk-lib, brace-expansion, yaml, minimatch, @smithy/config-resolver, and ajv. All fixes are applied via parent dependency bumps in the root package.json, with a subsequent package-lock.json refresh. Three direct dependencies were updated in the manifest (aws-cdk-lib, @aws-sdk/client-secrets-manager, @aws-sdk/credential-providers), and transitive packages were updated via npm update after the manifest changes landed.

fast-xml-parser

Previously resolved at 4.4.1 as a transitive dependency of @aws-sdk/core, which was itself pulled in by @aws-sdk/client-secrets-manager and @aws-sdk/credential-providers. Bumping both AWS SDK direct dependencies in package.json to ^3.844.0 caused npm to resolve @aws-sdk/client-secrets-manager and @aws-sdk/credential-providers to 3.1077.0, a version of the SDK that no longer includes fast-xml-parser as a dependency at all — eliminating the vulnerable package from the lockfile entirely.

fast-uri

Resolved at 3.0.6 nested under aws-cdk-lib/node_modules/ajv. Bumping aws-cdk-lib to ^2.246.0 in package.json caused npm to resolve aws-cdk-lib to 2.260.0, which ships with ajv@8.20.0 nested inside it; that version of ajv declares fast-uri: "^3.0.1", allowing resolution up to 3.1.2. The npm update fast-uri pass then advanced the nested copy to 3.1.2, fixing the CVEs that require ≥ 3.1.1 and ≥ 3.1.2. The CVE requiring 3.1.3 (AIKIDO-2026-507986) could not be resolved because 3.1.3 was suppressed by the safe-chain minimum-age check at the time of this fix; it will resolve automatically once that version ages past the threshold.

aws-cdk-lib

A direct dependency declared as ^2.78.0, resolved at 2.204.0. The declared spec was widened to ^2.246.0 in package.json to satisfy the CVE requiring aws-cdk-lib ≥ 2.246.0, causing npm to resolve it to 2.260.0. This parent bump also transitively fixed the nested yaml, minimatch, brace-expansion, ajv, and fast-uri instances that live inside aws-cdk-lib's own node_modules subtree.

brace-expansion

Present in three lockfile locations: nested under aws-cdk-lib/node_modules/minimatch (was 1.1.12), at the root hoisted from minimatch (was 1.1.12), and nested under filelist/node_modules/minimatch (was 2.0.2). The aws-cdk-lib bump resolved the first instance to 5.0.6 (via minimatch@10.2.5). The root and filelist instances were advanced to 1.1.15 and 2.1.1 respectively via npm update brace-expansion minimatch --package-lock-only, which pulled their parent minimatch copies to patched versions that carry a fixed brace-expansion.

yaml

Resolved at 1.10.2 nested inside aws-cdk-lib/node_modules/yaml, where it was exact-pinned by aws-cdk-lib@2.204.0. Bumping aws-cdk-lib to ^2.246.0 (resolved 2.260.0) was required because aws-cdk-lib@2.245.0 is the first release that pins yaml at 1.10.3; the parent bump caused the nested copy to advance to 1.10.3.

minimatch

Present in three lockfile locations: nested under aws-cdk-lib (was 3.1.2), at the root hoisted from eslint and related dev tools (was 3.1.2), and nested under filelist (was 5.1.6). The aws-cdk-lib bump resolved the first instance to 10.2.5 (the version aws-cdk-lib@2.260.0 declares). The root and filelist instances were advanced to 3.1.5 and 5.1.9 respectively via npm update minimatch --package-lock-only, both satisfying the ≥ 3.1.4 / ≥ 5.1.8 patched-version floors.

@smithy/config-resolver

Previously resolved at 4.1.4 as a transitive dependency shared across multiple @aws-sdk/* packages. Bumping @aws-sdk/client-secrets-manager and @aws-sdk/credential-providers to ^3.844.0 in package.json caused npm to resolve those packages to 3.1077.0. In that version of the SDK the package structure was reorganised such that @smithy/config-resolver no longer appears as a separate lockfile entry, eliminating the vulnerable instance entirely.

ajv

Present in two lockfile locations: at the root hoisted from eslint (was 6.12.6) and nested under aws-cdk-lib/node_modules/table (was 8.17.1). The aws-cdk-lib bump to 2.260.0 advanced the nested 8.x copy to 8.20.0, satisfying the ≥ 8.18.0 patched-version floor. The root 6.x copy was advanced to 6.15.0 via npm update ajv --package-lock-only, satisfying the ≥ 6.14.0 patched-version floor.
