Why AITDP?

Every team shipping an LLM feature or an agent ends up writing the same brittle if "ignore previous instructions" in prompt check. The scanners that do exist each speak their own dialect, so you can't swap one for another, compare them, or feed their output to your SIEM without glue code.

AITDP fixes the interoperability problem the same way Sigma did for SIEM rules:

📜 A spec One JSON format for a Threat Event — category, severity, evidence, recommended action — mapped to OWASP LLM Top 10 and MITRE ATLAS. A minimal Detector Interface any scanner can implement.
📚 A community ruleset Declarative YAML rules with embedded tests, reviewed in the open, versioned, and usable by any conformant engine.
🐍 A reference SDK pip install aitdp — a fast, zero-config pipeline with rule-based, secret, canary and tool-policy detectors, plus adapters for existing scanners. Drop it into OpenAI/LangChain/FastAPI/MCP in five lines.

It is not another ML classifier. It's the layer classifiers, guardrail libraries, gateways and agent frameworks plug into. Bring your own model; AITDP gives it a common language.

Every rule is executed against pathological input in CI to rule out ReDoS.

Performance & accuracy

The default pipeline is pure Python regex + heuristics: ~0.03 ms per message on the seed benchmark, no model downloads, no network. Rules are tuned for precision — they are a baseline meant to be layered with a classifier (ClassifierDetector) for recall on novel attacks.
