Hi, I’m Mathieu 😃

I've been a Pipeline developer in the VFX/animation industry since 2016.

My work focuses on the invisible but critical infrastructure that keeps creative pipelines flowing. Whether it's deep integration within DCCs (Maya, Houdini, Blender...), containerizing complex environments with Docker, or architecting production tracker logic, I build tools that prioritize reliability and technical clarity.

  • 👷‍♂️ I specialized in what I call "code spelunking": digging into complex systems to fix deep-seated bugs, optimize performance, and ensure scalability.
  • 👨‍🏫 I teach Rigging and supervise students on their graduation movie. I also taught motion capture, VEX, Python, and mechanical anatomy.
  • 💬 I’m fluent in French, English, and in IT/artist/production "dialects" 😄
  • 🎉 I organize a monthly afterwork called "Le Jeudi des Graphistes"
  • 🤓 I'm always tinkering and learning: did a lot of 3D printing and IoT lately.

🚀 My Projects

🧰 Tech: Python, Qt, Rust, Maya
A fully playable Tetris clone running natively inside Autodesk Maya, built as both a fun experiment and a playground for learning Python, Qt, and Rust. Four successive versions (2016–2025) showcase technical evolution: from Maya 2016 compatibility to a Rust rewrite to explore modern programming paradigms, including dependency-free solutions.

👨‍💻 MayaReCharm

🧰 Tech: Kotlin, Python, Maya
A workflow utility plugin bridging JetBrains IDEs and Autodesk Maya. Enables seamless, remote Python code execution, real-time logging and debugging from the IDE straight into a live Maya session.

🧰 Tech: Java
A JetBrains IDE plugin that colorizes files and folders in your project for better visibility. Features include a built-in color picker, real-time previews, and theme-aware colors (light/dark). Makes navigating large projects much more intuitive.

🧰 Tech: Docker, Bash
A ready-to-use Docker Compose stack for deploying Kitsu and Zou, CGWire’s open-source CG/VFX production management tools. Includes scripts for database (PostgreSQL) and indexer (Meilisearch) upgrades, as well as LDAP integration for studios.

A pre-configured Docker image combining SOPS (for secret encryption) and age (for key management). Ideal for securing configurations in Docker Compose stacks.

🎞️ AutoCut

🧰 Tech: Python, FFmpeg
A CLI tool that detects silences in videos and generates a Final Cut Pro X (FCPX) timeline with audio/video segments cut and organized on separate tracks (one for silent parts, one for the rest). Perfect for automated editing or cleaning up footage.
