I'm a complete n00b at encoding issues. I'm currently trying to run the specs, and I'm getting either ASCII bail outs, or after adding

encoding: utf-8

to the relevant files, I'm getting:

Encoding::CompatibilityError:
incompatible character encodings: ASCII-8BIT and UTF-8

Can you give me a pointer on getting the specs running please?

could you please remove this code,and have a try to run rspec again.

i think that your system have not install Chinese encode library, my environment is fedora 16.
