Yahoo Weather API discontinued

From viewing docs for yahoo api, it states:
On approximately June 1, 2021, the free Yahoo Weather API will be retired and will cease to function. Unfortunately, we will not be offering a replacement API, and there will be no paid alternative.

Hi, thanks for reporting. I'm looking for alternatives, but if you can suggest a service with a decent free plan or even contribute with new provider implementation, you're more than welcome!

Yuri, the weather status plugin of powerline-status (https://github.com/powerline/powerline) had hit the same Yahoo shutdown problem. They discussed 2 alternatives. One is https://github.com/chubin/wttr.in and the other is https://openweathermap.org. Eventually someone implemented a new plugin using OWM (https://github.com/DeepSpace2/powerline-owmweather/blob/main/powerline_owmweather/weather.py).

Came across this service called Open-Meteo and wonder if this is a suitable replacement.
