Kazi

A resume builder and job search workspace for African professionals.

The problem

Looking for work means keeping too many things in too many places. Your resume lives in one file, the tailored version for a specific role lives in another, and you lose track of which one you actually sent. You apply to a dozen roles and forget who you followed up with. You do good work all year and can't remember any of it when it's time to write it down. And when you finally get an interview, the recruiter asks for a link and you don't have one.

Kazi puts all of it in one place.

What you can do

Build resumes

  • Write a resume section by section: summary, experience, education, skills, projects, certifications, languages.
  • Reorder sections by dragging them into the order you want.
  • Choose from templates built to pass automated screening, plus modern, East African, and academic formats.
  • See a live preview of the finished document while you edit.
  • Export to PDF.
  • Keep multiple resumes for different roles and industries.
  • Save versions as you go and go back to an earlier one when a rewrite doesn't work out.

Tailor to a specific job

  • Paste a job description and get a keyword analysis showing what the posting asks for and what your resume is missing.
  • Rewrite individual experience bullets for stronger phrasing.
  • Generate a professional summary from what's already in your resume.
  • Tailor your skills section to a posting — keeps the relevant skills you already have, suggests role-specific ones from the description, and regroups them by category. You review every suggestion before it's applied.
  • Upload a PDF of a resume you already have and Kazi fills the builder in for you, section by section, so you're not retyping years of history. Add a job description at the same time and the imported content comes back tailored.

Write cover letters

  • Generate a cover letter from a resume and a job description, then edit it yourself.
  • Keep your letters alongside the resumes they belong to.

Track applications

  • Move applications across a board as they progress, from applied through to offer or rejection.
  • Open any application to see the role, the company, the resume you sent, and your notes.
  • Set follow-up reminders so you know when to check in, and get reminded by email.

Keep an achievement journal

  • Log wins, numbers, and projects as they happen, while you still remember the detail.
  • Pull from the journal when you're writing or updating a resume.

Publish a portfolio page

  • Turn your profile into a public page at your own username, ready to send to a recruiter.

Account and billing

  • Sign in with email or with Google.
  • Free, Pro, and Ultimate plans. Free covers one resume, a small number of tracked applications, and journal entries; Pro and Ultimate remove those limits, add the full template set, clean exports without a watermark, version history, follow-up reminders, and a monthly allowance for the AI features. Ultimate adds the public portfolio page and a larger allowance.
  • Pay by card, bank transfer, USSD, or mobile money. M-Pesa payment is coming soon.

Who built it

Designed and built end to end by one engineer — product, interface, and everything behind it.
