Aegis

Aegis checks images and text for AI-generated content and toxic language, for teams that accept submissions from the public.

Live: https://aegis.zidi.digital

The problem

If people can upload to your platform, you inherit whatever they send. Synthetic images passed off as real photos. Machine-written text submitted as original work. Abuse, harassment and slurs in comments and messages.

Reviewing all of it by hand does not scale, and it gets worse as volume grows. Ignoring it costs you trust, advertisers, contributors, or a marketplace full of fake listings. Most teams end up choosing between a moderation queue nobody can keep up with and no moderation at all.

Aegis gives you a verdict on each piece of content in the moment it arrives, so a human only looks at the cases that need a human.

What you can do with it

Check an image

  • Submit a photo or graphic and get back a likelihood that it was generated rather than captured.
  • Get a score you can act on, not just a yes or no — set your own threshold for what gets blocked, flagged, or waved through.

Check text

  • Test a block of writing for signs it was machine-generated.
  • Test the same text for toxicity — harassment, threats, hate speech, obscenity.
  • Run both checks in one submission or run them separately.

Wire it into your own product

  • Send content from your application and receive a result back, so screening happens automatically at the point of upload or posting.
  • Choose which checks run on which content — you decide what gets screened and what doesn't.
  • Create and revoke your own access keys, and issue separate keys for testing and production use.

Run it from the dashboard

  • Sign in with email or a Google account.
  • Check content directly in the browser without writing anything, useful for spot checks and one-off reviews.
  • See your usage: how much you have checked, how much of your plan remains.
  • Manage your account, plan and billing in one place.

Pay for it

  • Subscribe with a card, billed on a recurring plan.
  • View and change your plan, and see what you are being charged for.

Who built it

Aegis was designed and built end to end by one engineer — product, interface, detection, accounts, billing and operations.

Source

The source code is private. Aegis is a commercial product and the implementation is not published.

Implementation detail — how detection works, how the product is put together, and the decisions behind it — is available on request and can be walked through in an interview.
