The most used format for open data Public Transport open data publication is GTFS.
The most commonly used language for transport and territorial analyses studies (at least in France) is arguably the Python language.
With the goal of fostering a community of transport data reusers and open source tools contributors in mind, the AFIMB awarded in december 2015 a contract for the provision of an open source python library which would ease GTFS data reuse for producing indicators and analysing the Public Transport offer. The library should be designed so as to be extensible by third parties.
