App Settings

Themes, notifications, receiver management, firmware and support in the TankSync™ app.

Open from the Settings icon on the home dashboard. These settings cover the app itself and the receivers linked to your account.

Appearance

By default the app follows your device's system theme — if your phone is in Dark Mode, so is TankSync. You can override this:

  • Auto — follow the system (default)
  • Light
  • Dark

Notifications

Worth enabling. This is what turns TankSync from something you check into something that tells you.

You can receive notifications for:

  • Low water level
  • Overflow warnings
  • Low battery
  • Sensor communication issues
  • Device status updates

You'll also get a notification when new receiver firmware is available.

Change these at any time. The thresholds that trigger low-water and overflow alerts are per-tank and live in Tank Calibration — this page controls which of them reach your phone.

Local Network Access

Lists every receiver linked to your account. For each one:

  • Hub Name
  • Local IP Address
  • Device ID

Selecting a receiver opens its configuration, where you can rename it or review connection details.

Most people never come back here after setup. It's useful when you have multiple hubs and need to know which is which, or when you need a hub's local IP to open its web UI.

A note on local IPs: the address shown is the one your router handed out. If your router reassigns it, this list may lag until the hub next reports in. The hub's own display always shows its current address.

Firmware updates

If a newer receiver firmware is available you'll see it here — tap Update and the receiver downloads and installs it.

Receiver updates are recommended. Transmitter updates should only be performed if SmartGhar specifically tells you to. Full reasoning and the offline method: Updating Firmware.

Support

Contact the SmartGhar team from inside the app. You can raise a support ticket describing the issue and track its progress.

There's also a WhatsApp link in the app for faster back-and-forth.

When reporting a problem, the useful details are: your hub's firmware version, what the hub display shows, and — if it's a tank reading problem — the raw sensor distance from the tank detail screen. That trio resolves most tickets in one exchange.

Signing out

Signing out doesn't unlink anything. Your receivers, tanks and cloud configuration stay attached to your account — sign back in and everything is where you left it.

Useful if you're handing the phone to someone, or switching between accounts.
