Please do not open a public issue for a suspected vulnerability. Use the hosting provider's private vulnerability-reporting feature. Include the affected version, reproduction steps, impact, and any suggested mitigation. Do not include real passphrases, salts, vault contents, or encrypted personal files.

Privater is a personal privacy tool and has not received an independent security or cryptographic audit. It does not protect data from malware or another process running as the same operating-system user while the app is unlocked. LAN access currently uses HTTP and is intended only for trusted networks. Users must maintain independent backups because lost credentials and corrupted containers may be unrecoverable.
