🧭 About Me

name:        Saniya Hassan
role:        Third-year Software Engineering student @ NUST SEECS
focus:       Backend systems, infrastructure, and what's underneath them
looking_for: Substantive SWE internships where I can ship things that hold up in production

I like taking a problem from the network stack up to the API and seeing it through — I've built a Trie-indexed C++ search engine over 50,000+ documents, a real-scale 3D space simulator, and I keep live Linux servers running as part of a working engineering team.

🔬 Current Research

Wildfire Detection & Air Pollution Modeling — AI × Remote Sensing 🔥🛰️ Research project structuring the wildfire problem space as a causal pipeline — pre-fire risk → active fire detection → smoke/pollution dispersion → downstream health impact — with a core focus on source-to-concentration smoke & air-pollutant modeling.

💼 Experience

Software Engineering Intern — Smart Agritech Labs, NSTP Islamabad · Jun 2026 – Jul 2026

  • Administer production Linux servers — disk usage, storage cleanup, routine maintenance
  • Automate operational tasks with Bash scripting; hands-on across the network stack
