What

The first published method spec in the OFL registry: Dynamic Facilitation (Jim Rough / Center for Wise Democracy).

The registry tooling + format (HAR-1065) shipped earlier, but the public index was empty: the only authored spec, Many-to-Many, is CC-BY-NC and is held in method-specs-staging pending Dark Matter Labs sign-off. Dynamic Facilitation is a long-established public method, so it can be CC0 and go live here as the first spec.

The spec

  • runtime.artifact: single — DF is one continuous, emergent facilitated conversation, not a chain of phased sessions.
  • The four boards (problem statements, solutions, concerns, data) are encoded as cross-cutting lenses; every contribution is charted to one throughout.
  • Four movement-stages (open-the-questionwelcome-and-reflectstay-in-the-groan-zoneharvest-the-shift), with the welcome-and-reflect engine running continuously. The modelling note in SOURCES.md flags that this bends the stage model slightly.
  • One weval blueprint per stage (should / should_not), grounded in the real DF session in the evals benchmark corpus (facilitators Ben + Eva): reflect-back, purposeful probing, welcoming reframes of the question.
  • Licence CC0-1.0, attributed to Jim Rough as originator; passes guard (publishable, no hold).

Checks

validate, build-index, check, guard all pass; vitest 22/22. index.json + README table regenerated.

Review ask

A facilitator eye on the single-vs-chain modelling, the four-boards-as-lenses choice, and the stage prompt + eval wording before merge. Promote draft → tested only after a DF-practitioner review (noted in SOURCES.md).

First published spec in the registry. Dynamic Facilitation (Jim Rough,
Center for Wise Democracy): CC0, runtime.artifact=single, the four boards
as cross-cutting lenses, four movement-stages, one weval blueprint per
stage. Grounded in the OFL benchmark DF session. Regenerates index.json
+ the README table.
