The Gable marks and logo files, and the policy that governs their use.
The marks — Gable, GableLBM, AI_LM, and OpenLBM — and the logo
files in assets/ are held by the Gable Steward and licensed to
FutureBuild, Inc. for commercial use. They are published here so you can find
them, identify them, and know what you may do with them.
No code license in the OpenLBM Standard grants any trademark right. Not the Commons Profile, not the Surface Profile, not the permissive Connector Profile. Copyleft licenses grant rights in copyright; they are silent on trademarks, and that silence is not permission.
You may fork the code. You may not ship the fork as Gable. That distinction is the community's ultimate backstop against capture — it is what stops a consolidator from taking the commons and running it under the name the community built.
This repository exists to close a specific gap: brand assets that sit inside a code repository, under the code repository's license, invite the reasonable but wrong assumption that they are as freely reusable as the code around them. They are not. Separating them makes that explicit.

Yes — that's permitted nominative use. Write "works with Gable" or "an OpenLBM
implementation" in plain text. Don't put our logo on your product, and don't name
your product "Gable Something". See

I forked the commons and want to run it for my own dealership.
Go ahead — that's exactly what the license is for, and you don't need anything
from this repository. If you keep it internal, nothing here constrains you. If you
distribute or offer it to others, you must rename it. See

I want to write about Gable / present it / teach it.
Yes. Editorial, journalistic, and educational reference to the marks is fine, and
you may use the logo to illustrate an article or a talk about Gable. Don't use it
as your branding. See TRADEMARK-POLICY.md §3.

There's a defined set of things community members may do — including saying you
run Gable and using the mark in community materials. See

It is not a code license. It grants no rights in software, and no code license grants rights under it. The two are independent instruments that answer different questions.
The marks are held by the Gable Steward under the Gable Charter §7, and changes to the trademark policy are subject to the Community Advisory Panel's veto under §4.5 of that charter. The community's brand is not FutureBuild's to give away — that is the point of holding it at the Steward.

Corrections to this repository — a broken asset, guidance that contradicts the
policy, a missing format — are welcome as ordinary pull requests against
staging.
Changes to the policy itself are not ordinary pull requests. The trademark policy is one of the items under the Community Advisory Panel's hard veto (Charter §4.5). Open an issue describing the problem; it will be routed accordingly.
