colormeter

X11 color meter — magnify pixels under the pointer and show RGB.

Build

Requires X11, Xft, and fontconfig (FreeBSD: x11/libX11, x11-fonts/libXft, x11-fonts/fontconfig).

make
make install          # PREFIX=/usr/local by default
make install PREFIX=$HOME

Usage

colormeter
  Ctrl+L         lock/unlock color sample (global grab)
  Button1 drag   move window
  q              quit

The status bar shows hex and decimal RGB for the sampled pixel. Lock with Ctrl+L to freeze the sample while you move the pointer.
