.gitmodules missing on clone

When I clone the repo I have to manually go to the commit history, find the .gitmodules, download it and paste it into the repo for being able to run the git submodule commands.

Would you be so kind and share the found GIT commit ID and/or the file's content, please? Ideally you could create a PullRequest/MergeRequest to add the file (again).
