TwinRoot

TwinRoot is an experimental symbiotic virtualization platform for physical Windows and Linux dual-boot installations.

It aims to let either physical operating-system installation run natively while the other installation can be started as a virtual machine, without maintaining a second copy of either system.

Project Status

TwinRoot is in the design and early research stage. It is not ready for use with personal or production disks.

Storage ownership, physical boot volumes, kernel filesystems, and guest boot chains can cause permanent data loss when implemented incorrectly. Do not use unfinished TwinRoot components with irreplaceable data.

Security

See SECURITY.md. TwinRoot operates on real disks and boot volumes; safety is a primary engineering goal, not an afterthought.
