Hi Stu,

I'm new to MQTT. How do I setup the MQTT connectio with the minibrew?
Could you or anyone give me some guidance?

In a nutshell, you can't, as it's wrapped in a WebSocket and connecting directly to the Minibrew device is something we/I have never done. Instead, the Minibrew mothership provides the data, and I suspect the devices do this by sending data. In this integration, we subscribe to MQTT topics, per device, via WebSocket, we find.

You can see some of the Architecture in the YouTube video from Python speak in 2016 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rgfO3xa9D0. This is all I have to understand some of how Minibrew works under the hood.

I don't have to install anything MQTT related? I would have suspected a MQTT client/broker or something.

We are handling this using https://pypi.org/project/paho-mqtt/ inside this integration. MQTT pure is much easier to work with, whereas the Minibrews implementation is a little more finicky. I may, at some point, in the Minibrew Python library, break this out, but for now, this will have to do.
