When adding an image onto the board, it is generally more convenient to perform any cropping necessary within the board itself rather than beforehand in an external editor. Currently, that is not the case and one cannot import, say, a spritesheet to use it for an image of a particular character.
Proposed solution
My knowledge of the API does not yet let me to propose a solution.
