Coordinate sign change in Abaqus export and CT volume boundary error#9

Hi Luca and Maxwell,
Thanks for this amazing tool, its really helpful 馃憤馃徎

While testing the extension, I came across two issues/questions:

  1. Coordinate sign change in Abaqus export

When exporting the material-mapped mesh as an Abaqus .inp file, it seems that the signs of the x- and y-coordinates are flipped compared with the original mesh.

In the screenshot below, the meshes do not align after export. However, if I manually change the signs of the x- and y-coordinate columns in the .inp file, they align again.

I assume this may be related to the coordinate-system conventions expected by py_bonemat_abaqus and possibly corresponds to what you describe in your report, Maxwell. If this is expected behaviour, it might be worth mentioning it in the README.

  1. Node reported outside the CT volume

I tested the material mapping on both a femur and a vertebra. The femur worked, but for the vertebra I received the following error:
"Starting material assignment procedure. ERROR: Error: Node 1588 has a y-coordinate of: -245.4872741699219 which is outside the CT volume Dataset minimum y value is: -135.0"

I checked the mesh visually, and it appears to be well within the boundaries of the CT scan.

Do you have any idea what could cause this? Could it potentially also be related to the coordinate-system transformation?
