Right Option key = Control not working on Mavericks

MBP with OS X 10.9

I configure DoubleCommand such that the right Option key acts as a Control key. That's the only key I change. It initially works but after a while stops working. I suspect it happens when the computer sleeps and reawakens. I'll try to verify that.

Not as simple as that, unfortunately. I will update here if I figure out what causes it.

I’m also experiencing this—remapping keys works for a while, but eventually stops functioning. It’s not just the right option key as control.

I should have known better than to upgrade to Mavericks. grr....

I dropped DoubleCommand and switched to KeyRemap4MacBook. It’s been working solidly for six months and I haven’t had a problem with it; whereas, even before this particular Mavericks issue, DoubleCommand would periodically randomly lose my settings and require remapping things.

I still have this problem (Right Option acts as Control does not work) with 10.9.5. Anyone has a workaround?
