backtrace on assert?

Is there any way to report the backtrace when an assert occurs? If I create a group of functions to test the program and those functions use asserts, then when those functions are used in unit tests, you lose track of where exactly the failure happened in the unit test.

Some platforms have ways of providing this information and there are Open Source libraries that wrap those, they're worth looking into as at least an optional capability.
