how to handle in case of dynamic fields

Hi ,

I am creating text boxes dynamically with ng repeat. how do i use your directive in that case. some time i will be having 10 to 30 input boxes. Do i need to create dynamic variables?

You could to do something like this:

<div ng-repeat="item in items">
    <p>Click the item to focus on the input field.</p>
    <input focus-on event="clickedItem-{{ $index }}">
    <button ng-click="selectItem('clickedItem-'+$index)">Item</button>
</div>

and your controller function to select the item:

$scope.selectItem = function(event) {
    $scope.$broadcast(event);
};

The only problem is, basically that would create a unique event for each element. If your list is very long you're creating a lot of events which can possibly impact performance.

I'll leave this open and maybe come up with a more elegant solution.

May be something like below. In my case their is no button to select. as soon as i create text box, i would need focus on text box. if user enters valid data i would dynamically create input box and change the focus to new input box.

One more which use case that your directive addresses? usually when you create input box, you would need focus on that input box right?
