Execute in REPL action silently fails in Rider 2025

I'm unable to get the "Execute in REPL" action to work in Rider 2025.2.4 and I don't think it's a keymap issue. There is something else going on. I'm guessing this plugin got broken by some IntelliJ updates. Any ideas? Or workarounds other than using an old version of Rider?

I have the same problem in my IntelliJ IDEA Version 2026.1.4 (running a plain Java project which starts a Clojure nREPL).

I can connect to the REPL and issue command in the REPL tool window (like (str 1 2 3)). But when I open a Clojure file and try to execute expressions with Ctrl+Enter then nothing happens. (Actually, it inserts a new line above the current line -- the key binding for Ctrl+Enter in my IDEA).

I also checked the Tools->Clojure menu and have the feeling the item "Execute in REPL" is missing:
