This feature is now available in today's release (v0.13.0). I believe I have covered the most common use cases. |

I'm not sure if there's a technical term for this feature, but every other markdown editor I've used, I can quickly surround selected text with enclosing characters but in Many Notes it erases the selected text instead. Kate lets me choose my enclosing characters in Settings, for example. The auto-close brackets capability would be super nice too but I can live without it.
