Problem
Kastword uses a generic microphone icon and GitHub default preview, so it lacks distinctive, consistently licensed identity for Plasma and distribution metadata.
Expected outcome
Users can recognize Kastword consistently, and packagers can verify asset provenance and licensing.
Scope
- Create or commission a project icon.
- Retain editable source artwork and required exports.
- Install and reference the icon in desktop metadata.
- Create and configure a GitHub social preview.
- Record licensing and attribution.
Non-goals
- A complete brand system or application redesign.
- Replacing native KDE action icons.
- Unsupported release claims.
Acceptance criteria
- Source and exported assets are version-controlled with valid SPDX and REUSE metadata.
- Installed launchers and application surfaces use the project icon.
- GitHub uses an owner-approved, legible social preview.
- The icon follows relevant KDE and accessibility guidance.
- Build, install, uninstall, metadata, and REUSE validation cover the assets.
- Provenance, license, and attribution are documented.
Dependencies and risks
Artwork requires owner approval and confirmed licensing. Alternate-prefix installation must keep working.
