Binaries for Rust 1.84.1

It looks like the last release for this is currently Rust 1.81. Are there plans to release this for newer versions of Rust, specifically for the latest stable (which I believe is currently 1.84.1) or is there a technical reason why this doesn't or can't work with newer versions of Rust?

One temporary workaround for those who couldn't solve it yet is to use the version 1.81 of rust. That can easily be done with the rustup tool.

Configuring the 1.81 toolchain

Install the 1.81 toolchain:

rustup toolchain install 1.81

You can check which toolchain versions are installed in your machine using the rustup show command.
One example of output is:

$ rustup show
Default host: x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
rustup home:  /home/<your_home>/.rustup

installed toolchains
--------------------
stable-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu (active, default)
1.81-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu

active toolchain
----------------
name: stable-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
active because: it's the default toolchain
installed targets:
  x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu

To use the 1.81 version, you have a few options. One of the options is to change the default toolchain to the 1.81 version with the following command:

rustup default 1.81

Now, if you run the rustup show command again, you will be using the 1.81 version by default:

$ rustup show
Default host: x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
rustup home:  /home/<your_home>/.rustup

installed toolchains
--------------------
stable-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
1.81-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu (active, default)

active toolchain
----------------
name: 1.81-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
active because: it's the default toolchain
installed targets:
  x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu

After finishing your experiments, do not forget to set the default version to stable channel again:

rustup default stable
