Hello,
It is great to see OpenVTC getting attention from others, especially from mentees in the LFDT project.
It is important to point out that at this stage, OpenVTC is in early development and thus has many breaking changes, and the focus is very much on getting functionality to work rather than on quality or production-grade features.
OpenVTC has many components to the overall ecosystem, and much of the project scope is stubs for future work (for example, the concept of a Verifiable Trust Community (VTC) is itself undefined).
You are more than welcome to review the code, try using it and offer suggestions and improvements. You can help the development of this project in a few different ways:
We welcome the use of AI tools and analysis; it is the new normal. But please don't blindly trust AI; log issues and PRs for minor changes/fixes. These will be rejected most of the time, as we are not at that level of development, or your changes will simply be replicated in the development branches.
The development and design process for this project is highly iterative and agile; it is also opinionated by the maintainers at this stage. As the project matures, this will slow down and make it easier to work on modules of the codebase independently.
This means that breaking changes will occur frequently at this stage, and that nothing is guaranteed to work end-to-end fully.
If you are unsure of anything or have questions, please ask in the discussion forums, and we will try to respond ASAP.
We will aim to stand up a demo VTC for you to join shortly to test end-to-end functionality.
