Mini DIMM connector obsolete

Hello,
I was wondering, how do you plan to replace the 244 pins right angle Mini-DIMM connector, now that's it's obsolete/not in production anymore, and it is becoming really hard to find?

E.g. DDR4 SODIMMs right angle connectors could be a more sustainable (and very cheap) replacement part.
It has a .5 mm picth (.6 mm for minidimm, but it does not really matter as no current will flow), the same airgap (± .15 mm), and 260 pins available (244 for minidimm).
Of course it's not pin-compatible but it would require few modifications, apart from re-routing traces.
